The scattered shapes of autumn leaves were cast in lustrous steel as they cut across the surface of the bench. The crisp outlines created by their transparent forms contrasts sharply with the robust profile of the dense metal. Although the leaves create a rich pattern, they penetrate the surface to form part of the structure itself. As light passes through their silhouettes, ghostly shadows form on the ground beneath. Like a camouflage print, the leaves form an abstraction of foliage, transforming familiar elements of the natural world into symbols of contemporary furniture design. Laser cut, lacquered steel.
