While working on the interior design for the Hyllie Terrass atrium, Louise Hederström visited the lighting company Örsjö and discovered punched strips—scrap material left over from the production of Jonas Bohlin’s Star 1. These strips, with their own unique character and shape, became the foundation for the Terrace chandelier. With its light, graphic expression, the design creates a distinct sense of space in the room. Through skilled craftsmanship and thoughtful design, resources are used more efficiently and sustainably.
The Terrace is named after the building it was designed for, Hyllie Terrass in Malmö, as well as the different levels that, much like a terrace, give the light fixture its unique silhouette. Hyllie Terrass, completed in 2023, is Skanska’s first climate-neutral project and one of the few in Sweden to receive certification from the Sweden Green Building Council.
